Project Overview
Wattle is the second iteration of our hybrid rocket engine, building off the learnings of the Waratah Project. The project aimed to establish a hybrid engine testing facility that our team will be able to use in future to further our projects and technical capability.
Wattle, the second iteration of our hybrid rocket engine, epitomizes a culmination of extensive research and testing, building upon the foundation laid by the Waratah Project. This ambitious endeavour spanned a meticulous developmental timeline, marked by rigorous on-campus cold flow tests and live hot fires at our dedicated facility in Arthursleigh Farm, University of Sydney. These tests, meticulously executed with a focus on safety and precision, validated the engine’s performance, refined engineering parameters, and paved the way for integrating hybrid engine technology into future flight-ready rockets. Wattle stands as a testament to our team’s unwavering dedication, technical prowess, and pioneering spirit, poised to propel the boundaries of space exploration ever further.
